Throwback time! I have the fondest memories of a classmate and I filming this video for an undergraduate class at Michigan State University (WRA 417). The video is not the best quality, and I’ve improved my videography skills a bit since then, but it was so much fun making it.
I remember this project so vividly – it felt like an adventure making it. We were out in the world experimenting with storytelling, video editing, and expanding on a framework that had already been remixed by others around the world. We were out of our comfort zone, playing with light and audio and asking strangers to do dance moves around East Lansing.
It was featured on Michigan State University’s home page and on their Facebook page and has almost 6,000 views on YouTube!

My favorite part of this project was seeing comments from former Spartans on Facebook about how it made them miss MSU, and the YouTube comments from our international co-creators.
